It all began in 1923 when Ugo Sivocci won the Targa Florio while at the wheel of an Alfa Romeo RL, which bore a green four-leaf clover symbol that he had painted on a white diamond-shaped background. Unfortunately, Sivocci died in a tragic car accident just a few months later in a vehicle he was test-driving, which coincidentally was not adorned with his lucky quadrifoglio (Italian for four-leaf clover). From then on, Sivocci’s good luck charm became synonymous with our passion for motor racing: a tradition that has lasted decades.

Name any major race, circuit or championship, and you'll find the Quadrifoglio emblem at the higher end of the Hall of Fame. Alfa Romeo won the first-ever World Championship for Grand Prix vehicles in 1925 and the first two Formula 1 Championships in 1950 and 1951. These are just a few of the many achievements of a unique winning streak boasting five World Championships overall and hundreds of Italian and European titles. These victories are more than just a part of the Brand's history: they are now integral to every Quadrifoglio model.
